 Many
will remember a commercial a few years back where a
consultant stated "we don't do what we propose, we just
propose it..." . That has long been the "knock" on
consultants, which is why we refuse to let Genesis
Strategies become a typical consulting firm. We
believe in "putting our money where our mouth is"!
This does not mean that we invest in every
venture that we become involved in, with every client that
we work with...even thought we very often want to. It
does, however mean that we consider every engagement as if
it were our own, and treat it as such.
Beyond the "sense of ownership" that we
take on behalf of our clients, we do in certain cases take
actual ownership. When a true spirit of partnership
exists with a client we will often forego cash compensation
in favor of equity or other performance based incentives.
In some case we will actually launch ventures with a client
as a partner. In other cases we identify opportunities
in the market and launch them for ourselves.
