JSA Technologies

JSA
Technologies was founded in early 1998 by David Johnson,
shortly after leaving Security Dynamics, the leader
in the computer security field. David felt that
his experience could be put to better use developing
specialized secure e-commerce solutions. Armed
with this vision, David launched JSA, providing customized
solutions to Harvard University and McKinsey & Company,
among others. The challenge for David and JSA
was to leverage this experience to become the market
leader that he envisioned.
In early
1999, David began to discuss possible expansion strategies
with Genesis Strategies Partners Len Stavis and Jim
Boudreau. These strategy sessions shifted JSA's
focus from project development to product development.
Leveraging prior projects, JSA has now developed a number
of specialized products focused on improving the capabilities
of the Student ID card systems used at most major universities.
These products are currently in use at Harvard Univiersity
and Ohio State University with more schools coming on
line soon.
By September
of 1999, Genesis Strategies had assumed a substantial
operating role at JSA, with Len Stavis acting as company
President. In that capacity, Len is responsible
for overseeing daily operations, developing strategic
partnerships and securing the financing that will facilitate
the company's further growth. This focus has already
led JSA to narrow but deepen its product offerings,
bringing several new products on-line on or ahead schedule.
It has also allowed David Johnson's energies to remain
firmly focused on developing the products and technical
resources necessary to continue the company's growth.
